Weekly Wrap

Good grief, Summerfest sure has people aflutter. My advice to the petition-signers: Stop. Stop with the petitions, the Facebook rants, the tweets. Build your frayed and fraying coalition, find a spokes-business that won’t alienate everybody, build your case and quietly work with Richard King and the city. Richard yelled at you? Join the club. Try harder. Try to look like the reasonable people here. You have legitimate concerns but right now you’ve lost control entirely and now there’s absolutely no pressure on King or the city to work this out in the short term. You have to start over and work toward next year.

In other controversies, Columbia’s most FUBARed corner got a little closer to improvement at the Planning and Zoning meeting last night. Kui Korean BBQ and Babbo’s Spaghetteria are open. International Cafe has reopened next to Main Squeeze. Sip for Second Chance is tonight, and looks awesome.

The must-watch of the week (ok, a few weeks ago) belongs to the above commercial for Hahn’s beer, whatever that is. Have a great weekend.
