True/False: An Eater’s Guide (sponsors edition)

As we speak, thousands of film buffs are descending upon Columbia for the True/False Film Festival. Some have traveled great distances, many will be homegrown – all will need to eat. Taken from the list of film fest sponsors, here are some options – along with any specials, deals or menu options they’ll be running over the next few days (yes, I called them all). Let me know if I missed any. For those on Twitter we’ll be using the #tfeats hashtag for updates.

Fat Chicks Chow Wagon – Columbia’s only (?) food truck began running two weeks ago. Owner Lisa Nichols is focusing on breakfast and lunch at area businesses for now, but will be set up at the corner of Ninth and Broadway during the festival. She’ll have tacos, sandwiches, pizza and more – menu here. Plus, bonus points for the T/F cupcakes.

Main Squeeze Cafe – I was going to summarize, but Leigh usually says it best herself anyway: “After seven years we’ve got it [speedy service] down. But just in case, we’re bringing in roller skates and Adderall,” she joked (I think). She recommends calling ahead if you’re in a pinch. Then, “cut straight to the front of the line and see if it’s ready…we’ll be moving fast.”

Bleu Restaurant & Wine Bar – Tina tells me Bleu got enough requests for vegan/vegetarian options during last year’s fest that they’re adding a few for the occasion (menu to come tomorrow here, available after 5pm). Also, $10 Sip and Nosh with your T/F program.

Sparky’s Homemade Ice Cream – Normally closed this time of year, but will open for the festival. Guinness float, anyone?

The Rome – Launching a new menu Thursday and offering two specials – along with some short-term vegetarian options – for lunch and dinner.

Billiards on Broadway – Offering a $10-off coupon in the T/F program. Regular menu.

Shakespeare’s Pizza – Regular menu and slices of pizza 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Kaldi’s Coffeehouse – Discounts for T/F ticketholders and a quick to-go menu.

Other T/F sponsors doing regular menu options:

Campus Bar and Grill
Flat Branch Pub & Brewing
Room 38
Gumby’s Pizza
Quinton’s
Tellers
Chipotle
Wine Cellar and Bistro
