Restaurant movings and shakings

Local boy Ben Parks has taken over as head chef at Bleu with the departure of Trey.

Rocky Galloway, once of Trattoria Strada Nova, will try to turn Hemingway’s around.

Out at Les Bourgeois, Ben Clay’s replacement apparently didn’t work out and has left. New chef has been decided on, but not officially announced.

In other news, Mike Odette is still at Sycamore.

  1. The original LB new chef came by the market a few weeks ago, meeting farmers. He was pretty gruff, didn’t seem very personable. Maybe he rubbed too many people the wrong way, or vice versa.

Just talked to Ben at Bleu today; he bought 3lb of garlic scapes. Off to a good start from our point of view. He commented that he’d talked to a lot of local farmers since starting.

Did Hemingway’s need turning around? I’ve never been there. but my impression was it was pretty popular with locals.

  2. Oh, I think the new LB chef’s name is Aaron Morgan. I called there today to touch base with the old new chef about some of the items we have on hand, with delivery day coming up tomorrow, and they told me he was gone and the new chef was Aaron Morgan (if I wrote that down right). I expect to talk to him tomorrow.

  3. Hemingway’s has a great brunch but the rest really needed help. I think Rowson would agree…honey mustard nuts? 🙂
