Kampai Alley

Kampai Alley, located in the alley off of Ninth St., just south of Broadway.

A good friend of ours escaped from his family visit to St. Louis (at significant familial risk) tonight. We hit Sycamore for dinner but dropped by Kampai Alley to check it out. They have a sharp, lounge-style upstairs with lots of large, plasma televisions, a classy, blonde wood-accented downstairs and a patio shoehorned into the surrounding brick buildings.

Vegetable tempura was fine, if in dire need of salt. Also, the Asahi promised on the menu hadn’t been delivered yet. But hey, it’s their second day. All in all, an impressive, unique space for Columbia.
