The Road to Myrtle

My dad and son and I are heading down for the Newmans’ event June 6  and could use some recommendations along the way. Food, diversion, etc. Anything worth checking out in West Plains? Licking? Cabool?

Update: I talked to Rita this morning and she said they still have a few spaces available. Lunch will be a Vietnamese shrimp boat sandwich (pork, not shrimp). The chef from Andrew Michael in Memphis will be making snacks with some of the more unusual pork bits and Chef Renny Alphonso of Memphis’ Peabody Hotel restaurant will be doing another whole hog in the La Caja China box. Vegetables and salad courtesy of Rita’s garden.

God I’m hungry…

  1. Unfortunately Cafe 37 is only open for lunch and dinner. We’ll be rolling through at breakfast time. Any recs on that front? Or lunch between Rolla and Jefferson City?
