New Year’s Resolutions

Among mine: watch more movies. I was a hard-core Netflix devotee before the arrival of Thing 1 and Thing 2. I was most interested in films that annoyed Mrs. SMEs, as it turns out. Extended eye-rolling sessions were the norm as red envelope after red envelope yielded “Seven Samurai,” “The 400 Blows” or “Tokyo Story.” Since then, as entertaining as kids are – very, as it turns out – I’ve missed the movies. And so I’ve jumped back in with Netflix, which now offers a view-online for many of the films in their library, especially the older films. It’s brilliant. I read Roger Ebert’s thoughts on “Gomorrah” and thirty seconds later I was watching it on my laptop. Brilliant.

  1. I’m waiting for the WII connection with Netflix. Sometime this spring, I think – I’ll be able to download the Netflix movies that make Mr. Maria’s head bob backward, and watch them on my own tv (the one connected to the WII Fit – that I’m suppose to exercise to.)
