Google conquers the world

This has to be the coolest thing of all time – Google Street View. There’s no great reason to virtually walk down 9th Street (other than it’s awesome). Most of us are in town, after all. But I used this feature to familiarize myself with accomodations and restaurants in New York City last fall. If they get this in Florence I may never leave the computer again. Oh crap.

  1. So cool, but yet a bit scary, ya know? I just looked in the front window of my parent’s house in San Diego! wild!

But for trips and research, how amazing it will be.

  2. Yep. It is best for small towns. My hometown of Bogard, MO is on there. It has a population of 200. Also, my wife and I found it invaluable when researching neighborhoods in Norfolk, VA. Good stuff.

  3. As far as 9th street though, did you notice that the camera screwed up for the length of it?
