A farmer in Fayette (name escapes me now) is going to be supplying The Root Cellar’s chickens this year. These are happy chickens – well, I guess they were happy chickens – that got to do chicken things.
They’re sustainably raised, hormone-free and taste great. They run a little over ten dollars but are surprisingly meaty. We served one for dinner with the neighbors the other night and had enough meat left over to have chicken quesadillas the following night.
