Back in the saddle (sort of)

D.C. was great, if exhausting. Too little sleep, too many adult beverages. Anyway, we’re back for a few days. Maybe a good day for lunch at Kayotea, which got a nice write-up in the Trib Saturday.

  1. D.C. is a fun place to visit, glad to hear you had a good time. Kayotea is a great place, they have some of the best green tea I’ve ever tasted. I also like their black bean wrap without the cheese and dressing (stupid dairy allergy) and their sweet potato chips are amazing.

  2. hmm, soup. artisan has good, if not kind of overpriced white chicken chili…I’d suggest getting it with half a sandwich, my faves are the turkey, apple and brie, and the green machine. the roast beef is also pretty great.

I had an awesome beans n greens stew at Cafe Berlin, very hearty and flavorful without an overkill of sodium, which coming from a salt fiend, is saying a lot. came with your choice of bread, yummy with pita. both locations rotate their specials, but from what I’ve heard in general, i’d be willing to bet CB’s other soup selections are worth trying.

    happy holidays!
