Stuff white people like

Some people may find StuffWhitePeopleLike.com mean-spirited and offensive, probably because it is. But I try to not let that stop me from laughing; it’s hilarious in a cringe-inducing way. Like The Office, but about you, it hits a little too close to home sometimes. Like here, here and here. The latest entry, hummus:

When it comes to food, all white people are either allergic to/or have stopped eating everything you consider delicious.  It’s a good idea to come to grips with the concept, because it will save you a lot of headaches….You can mediate this situation by stocking your pantry with dozens of complicated and expensive snacks.  Or you could take the easy way out and just buy a tub of hummus.

And no, no hummus in the house for me thank you very much.

(finished it last week)

  1. Hahaha, we DO like hummus don’t we? I always thought hummus was more of a hippie or vegetarian culture kind of thing, but I guess I was wrong. I really get a kick out of that website too though.

  2. I hate to admit it, but I like this site too. And hey, I like hummus. I do not however, regulary keep it in stock, but as a white person, perhaps I should!

I do not like soccer, no, no, no. I do not even like it in the snow. I will not like soccer here or there. I just will not like soccer anywhere (except for the Olympics).

Farmer’s Markets on the other hand are the bomb! I am sure that is something a white person might still say, even though it is dated.

  3. Yes Jeff, it is evidently our solemn duty to keep hummus on hand at all times. You and I need to get with the program.

And I recognize soccer is an acquired taste. It’s hard to acquire it watching MLS (not that you’re doing much of that). Still, one can hope.

  4. In my defense, I do have 5 or so cheeses on hand, including a white sharp cheddar, feta and havarti. I have fresh garlic and cilantro, two olive oils – everyday and better, peanut oil, two different balsamic vinagerettes, and a pepper grinder. Oh, and three bourbons and several bottles of very good, but reasonable wine.

Alas, I shall try to become a better white person and keep hummus as well.
