I went to Jose Jalapeno’s for lunch today. It is owned by members of the family who owned the old Tolteca on Stadium that moved to Jeff. Same food and atmosphere as before.

On the JJ menu – they list a chicken dish with a mole’ — I haven’t been there yet and since I don’t eat meat — I won’t be trying that particular dish, but please let me know if you check it out before I do!

I took a look at Las Margaritas’ menu. I’ll need some convincing that the place is any different from [insert name ending in vowel here]: meat, red sauce, beans, iceberg and “guacamole,” smothered with Velveeta or something like it.

Is there a decent mole’ anywhere in this town? I’m by no means an expert on Mexican food, but…

Congrats on the 1000th post — yes, the address should be there along with the other listed info (it’s not rocket science) — not sure about a “Mexican” restaurant that has “Oriental Shrimp” on the menu and lists their salsa verde as “tomatillo sauce” and what is this only being able to get Pepsi (gag) products at Mexican restaurants? I stopped off and picked up a menu at Jose on Friday and have to say it looks promising — will be checking it out soon because their address is listed on the menu…

Hey there – so where is Las Margaritas? Someone *smile* needs to tell them putting their address on the rolling picture screen doesn’t work because some of us more impatient people might not want to scroll through the pictures of delicious foods. <– OK, yes, I'll admit there is something wrong with me, but all I wanted was a location and it took several minutes for the pics to load and the pictures to scroll to find out 'YES! There is an address and it's … wait for it to come around again!"
Otherwise, thanks for the recommend. Good Mexican food is always great news.

I find it interesting that Lucky’s is moving in to Columbia a year (or so?) after Natural Grocers did and the two chains are both based in Boulder. Just curious how that’s all going to work out.

Might want to try Rocheport Bike and Barbecue. New building, squeaky clean, no age-acquired atmosphere yet. Folks who run it are super nice–great customer service. Baked beans, slaw, potato salad, green beans all “down-home” cookin’. Pulled pork (my favorite), brisket, chicken also on the menu. Not a fan of their sauce though.
